Presidential candidate Aníbal Cavaco Silva spoke to an audience of around 300 people from five international business groups, including the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, from which investorseurope belong as corporate member.
Cavaco Silva said Portugal needs an added dose of confidence to exit its current economic malaise, and criticized the recent trend of very short electoral cycles that has upset stability.
Cavaco stressed the need to boost productivity and improve the education system, and also called on private sector companies to do their part. Cavaco’s campaign message has been one of hope and confidence.
